Toronto, Ontario (PRWEB) May 7, 2004

Muslim Comedy Festival part of the Â?Allah Made Me FunnyÂ? Official Muslim Comedy Tour. Muslim Comedy Festival will feature some of CanadaÂ?s top Muslim comics. Yuk YukÂ?s downtown Toronto location will host the first-ever All-Muslim Comedy Festival, announced Mark Breslin, CEO of Yuk YukÂ?s.

The All-Muslim Comedy Festival, which will take place on May 26 and will run through May 29, is the only Canadian stop on the Â?Allah Made Me Funny- Official Muslim Comedy TourÂ?.

Headlining the four-day comedy festival is Preacher Moss, one of North AmericaÂ?s top Muslim comics.

According to George Lopez from ABC televisionÂ?s hit series, The George Lopez Show, Â?Preacher Moss is not just a comedian for the Muslim community, but a teacher for the world.Â?

According to Preacher Moss, Â?The purpose of my comedy reflects my Islamic beliefs that say we, as Muslims, cannot be isolationist. My choice of dialogue is laughter, with a message of overall commitment to improving society as a whole.Â?

Master of Ceremonies for the Muslim Comedy Festival is Toronto actor and comedian, Enis Esmer.

Esmer is best known for his role as the host of The Toronto Show and has appeared in numerous film and television productions including Queer As Folk and Decoys, and is a former VJ Host with MuchMusic in Toronto.

Â?The Muslim Comedy Festival is an opportunity to showcase some of TorontoÂ?s best Muslim Comics as well as an opportunity to promote tolerance and understanding of other cultures using comedy as the medium,Â? said Breslin.

The All-Muslim Comedy Festival will also include Toronto-based comedienne Sabrina Jalees and Rassoul Samji. Joining them on-stage will be comics Azeem and Azhar Usman, who are both on-tour with the Â?Allah Made Me Funny Â? Official Muslim Comedy TourÂ?.

Â?Comedy comes from many different places and has many different messages. The messages we are sending out with the Muslim Comedy Festival is that laughter breaks all barriers no matter what peoplesÂ? beliefs or backgrounds are,Â? Breslin said.

Ticket prices for the shows are as follows: Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday shows are $ 10. Friday and Saturday shows are $ 17.

Tickets can be purchased through the reservation line at 416-967-6425 and picked up at the Yuk YukÂ?s box office located at 224 Richmond Street West, which opens at 7:30 p.m.
