Why do some people think Muslim is a race? What are they teaching kids in public schools these days?
I was talking to a younger friend of mine who is going into the Marine Corps and apparently he thought Iranians were of the “Muslim” race. He refused to believe me when I told him they were Caucasian.

Because Muslims call you a racist when you say something bad about Islam

Ok I’m not too sure, but my husband thinks that Islam and Muslim are two different things. He thinks Islam is the religion that Muslims practice – sad but true and it’s something that really drives me up the wall.
Also, in my time at school, the Middle East was not really taught. In fact it was with my own reading of the Jean Sasson books that introduced me to the Muslim religion and the Middle East – like I knew it was there because of the news etc, but I came from an uneducated family – - – or rather a family that didn’t give a toot-hoot in regards to school.
im muslim im not arab
bwt arabs iranians are caucasians
Muslim is a religion not a race. Also not all Muslims are caucasian, there are Asians & Africans that are Muslim. Don’t know what other children are taught but my children know that Muslim is a religion, not because of what any school might tell them but cuz of what I teach them.
