What are Mormons anyway. Are they Christians or a bunch of cultist?

Muslim.
Here’s what’s funny. You have no idea what a Mormon is, yet you automatically assume that they are “scary”.
Mormons have been in government, and at high levels of government, for a very very long time. Reagan had many in his administration. There are senators, congressmen, and governors who are LDS. They are often conservative or republican but not always. There have been LDS individuals who have been in the “top 10″ line of succession to be president of the United States.
The LDS church is the 4th largest Christian denomination in America. It is the second fastest growing in America. 1 in 50 Americans is LDS.
They are Christian. They believe in the Bible. They believe in God, Christ, and the Holy Ghost. Of course they have some unique beliefs, but every denomination does. They promote strong family ties, being responsible, self sufficient, faithful, educated, good citizens, honest, moral, etc.
I’m not sure what is “scary” about that.
My only concern over a Muslim president would be in the way that they would interact with Israel and the middle east. As long as they’re not trying to push sharia law onto us, I could care less.
The religion of every US president is the “Church” of the separation of Church and State and the “Church” of non-establishment, or at least that is what it should be.
That being said it does not matter if a president is Muslim or Mormon, in fact if we had a muslim president who upheld the constitution and was as patriotic as any other American our shattered image in the middle east may have a chance of being rebuilt.
Mormons are Christians who believe in all of the good taught by other similar churches like the Catholics or even Buddhists. They believe in being honest, chaste, virtuous, in serving others, and in anything good you can think of. So a mormon president would actually be a very good thing.
Neither, as long as they don’t push their beliefs onto us. Muslims and Mormons have many of the same morals as Christians, don’t bear false witness, don’t murder, etc. So it wouldn’t be a problem. Idk if Mormon is a sect of Christianity, but it is not a cult. A cult believer as President would be scariest.
I’m scared of the current administration. How soon will they throw out the constitution and have us all praying to Mecca.
“CULT” is an objective term meaning a form of worship. But, when you say “bunch of cultists” you are really trying for some knee-jerk reaction of a group of dangerous people, or just any group that you don’t like or believe that you want others to fear and hate as much as you do.
We believe that Jesus is the Christ. We follow Him as the Christ. That makes us, by definition, CHRISTians.
Doesn’t matter to me what religion a presidential candidate adheres to — so long as they’re not so fanatical about their religion that it would affect the way they governed. Like, say, GW Bush, who got involved in a family’s personal matters for religious reasons.
A Muslim one is certainly scary. I’m not that worried about having a Mormon president. I had a Mormon governor before and he did a pretty good job compared to the guy we have now.
By my understanding a Muslim President would make the U.S. a Muslim country according to Sharia Law. In that case said Muslim president would either be loved or hated by Muslims depending on whether or not he strictly observed sharia.
The scary thought is that many people see religion as a pre-requisite to become a politician.
I would be fearful of a terrorist president but not a Muslim president.
Gee, after all those Mormon suicide attacks all over the World, it’s a tough call . . . .
