If I Had Been Born a Muslim — New Book Release

Paul E. Williams, the author of this new book release, If I Had Been Born a Muslim, says that the title of this book could just as easily have been, “If I Had Been Born a Buddhist, or Jew, or Catholic.” Although the title intrigues, it is not about the Muslim religion or any specific religion, for that matter. It is about looking at your own religion from a different point of view.
Mr. Williams says, “If I had been born into a different faith culture than I was, would that make the things that I was taught by my family and other teachers as automatically valid? Would it make different faiths wrong? … Let me set aside taught beliefs and use only reasoning and, hopefully, a little help from God in coming to conclusions about beliefs.”
Cathy Lee Knight who recently read the book, and is the author of a column of her own, “The Book Stops Here,” commends Mr. Williams for his courage, the depth of his search and vast research.
A major portion of the book concentrates on the universe/space and time. The author uses his mathematical background and his faith to prove (one way or the other) whether God, as a causative “force” started it all.
Although this is the author’s first published ‘book,’ he has written and published a multitude of technical papers. When his wife of 44 years developed Alzheimer’s disease, his faith in God never diminished, even as he watched the disease progress over 11 years. It was this dedication and faith that is woven throughout this philosophical work and compels the reader to question as the author questions.
