“There is no god but God, Muhammad is the Messenger of God” This video is a short biographical sketch of the Islamic scholar Muhammad ibn ‘Abd al-Wahhab an-Najdi ( ???? ?? ??? ?????? ???????? ). Ibn ‘Abd al-Wahhab is arguably one of the most misunderstood Islamic scholars, ever. In fact, he has been vilified by segments of the Islamic community for over two centuries; the most common accusation being that he was responsible for innovations in his interpretation of Islam (a very serious charge, and all of this despite never specifically calling for a separate school of Islamic thought). More recently the West has sought to find a historical footprint with which to explain the global phenomena of jihad and revolt against Western-inspired decadence and capitalist-sponsored terrorism (particularly in Gaza). In truth Ibn ‘Abd al-Wahhab had a very simple, very straightforward message for the world and it started with Tawhid (the absolute concept of monotheism). Indeed, Ibn ‘Abd al-Wahhab pointed out that this was the first step in Islam; declaring “L? ilaha illa al-L?h, Muhammadun ras?lu l-L?h” or “There is no god but God, Muhammad is the Messenger of God.” Without Tawhid, Ibn ‘Abd al-Wahhab believed the entire infrastructure of Islamic jurisprudence, Quranic interpretation, Hadith scholarship and the ummah (Muslim community) itself would be simply operating in a perpetually dysfunctional vacuum. During Ibn ‘Abd al-Wahhab lifetime (1114 AH – 1206 AH) the ulama often rejected …

mushmush
what is so wrong in the believes of najdi.
we belive in one Allah.
we believe in The Noble Quran.
i think the teaching of Mohamed Abdel Wahab are so inspiring. Mashallah wa subhannallh
The najdi are completely ignorant and do not have much of a brain cell all put together
Thats very true, Ibn Abdul wahhab deviated from Ahlu sunna and declared many muslims as kuffar
this just proves the quran statement true. That some Arabs are the worst kuffar and hypocrites.
No scholars of Ahlu Sunnah dont lie, The Mufti of the Hanbalis in Mecca Sheikh Muhammad bin `Abdullah bin Hamid (d. 1295 H.) in his book as-suhub al-wabilah also mentioned it as did The Maliki Sheikh Ahmad as-Sawi (d. 1241 H.) in his commentary on al-Jalalayn about the fitnah of wahhabis
true
that is heavy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!If they did it. Dahlan wouldn’t lie though.
i might as well ask here, why do wahabis/salafis shave their heads, i have noticed alot of them do?
Please can someone tell me how did Muhammad ibn Abd-al-Wahhab die?
Salaam. Please provide quotes proving that Ibn Wahhab stated that Allah (Most Compassionate, Most Merciful) had hands and feet. Also, I have never read anything by Ibn Wahhab where he claimed that Tawhid was “new.” It appears that what Ibn Wahhab feared in his lifetime is still true; some people are simply regurgitating opinions by scholars, and few people bother to go to the source. For example, have YOU ever actually read anything by Ibn Wahhab? Or just shia critiques of Ibn Wahhab?
They found a group of people studying the Quran, so they killed every single one of them and anyone who was in a house. After that they attacked the shops and mosques killing anyone that was in, even the men who were in sujud praying, till they wiped out all creatures there”
Book called Umara al-Baladil-Haram authored by the headmaster of the scholars in Makkah Ahmad bnu Zayni Dahlan said “when they [al-Wahhabiyyah] came into al-Taif, they killed people indiscriminately including the elderly, the children, the subjects and the princes, the high ranked and the poor. They [al-Wahhabiyyah] slaughtered infants at their mothers chests. They climbed into houses and kicked out those who were hiding killing them all.
Salaam. You’ve made some very bold claims. Please provide quotes and references; I would like to see literal proof of your claims (especially stating that Ibn Wahhab himself “destroyed” cities.)
and he says that people should formulate their own interpretations of the quran, pardon be but people can make up any interpretation, even extremist ones… that lead to establishment of jihad and islamic extremism and hate among wahabbis and salafis based on their literal interpretations of jihad and hate in the quran.
so by that logic it proves that ibn wahabb is the source for islamic extremism in the world today – and that is NOT out of context!
sixth ibn wahabb may have said “to formulate your own opinions and not just rely on someone who came before them”, that states reveals a lot like the fact that he says people to follow the salafs who came before, so by his logics we shouldn’t simply follow the salafs? or should we follow the salafs?
fifth he may have declared “open critisism” to works of early islamic scholars but merely didn’t critisize his rivals but destroyed towns/cities full of people of the rival sect (i.e. malikis in madina, shias in basra, hanafis in jeddah)…simply because scholars of those other sects critisized his works and beliefs – thus making their sects his rivals and enemies
fourth he may have denounced “manipulation of religious authority for personal gains”, yet that is what his follower ibn saud the leader did… he he called upon the wahabi ulema to declare a fatwa forbidding the attack on saudis and ibn saud, so he could defeat his rivals the ikhwaans.
he also used “manipulation of religious authority” for attacking his rivals the ottomans – the empire of the khilafat of islam at that time, that had a moderate interpretation of islam…which he disagreed with
third the claims that “he believed that literal interpretations of quran were dangerous” is an absurd, literal and a false statement,
even today the primary belief of his followers today is literal interpretations of the quran – like believing that allah actaully has feet and faces and hands (estegfirullah)
there are several points in this video i can refute,
first – tawhid was not new, shias had this concept before ibn wahabb, shias always believed in one god, so he didn’t help
second – shias have been reading the quran 4 a millenium before ibn wahabb was known or even born, many scholars in the golden age (some of whom were shia) used the quran to advance in the fields of science and education which later helped humanity through medicine, astronomy projects like space/satellite launch etc.. .
Decent portrayal of what seems to be an enlightened life. Pity no-one actually listens to what he had to say. Extremism is on a rampage and fatwaas (re-interpreting the Koran for the mulla’s benefit) continue to twist a potentially reasonable message & society. Such a pity… enaal denaak.
He is the founder of Wahhabi sect.
Sectarianism in itself is corruption & voilation of the Quran. There sould be efforts to eliminate sectarianism rather than giving justifications for persuing sectarianism. There has to be ways & means mentioned in the Quran by which sectarianism could be eliminated.Kindly go through my web-site http://www.islamic-thought.com & give me your comments.
