CHRISTIAN HISTORICAL PERSPECTIVES ON ISLAM – Manuel II Palaiologos

God gave us the choice to either obey and love Him, or to reject Him. In Islam, Allah does not give this choice. One of the 99 names (or attributes) of Allah is “Al-Jabb?r” of which one meaning is “THE COMPELLER” or “HE WHO COMPELS” Another example of Compulsion as the foundation of Islamic belief is found in the Hadith of Al Bukhari vol. 4:196 which quotes Muhammad as saying, “I have been ordered? to fight with the people until they say, None has the right to be worshipped but Allah.” Greetings in Christ to all, This is one of many videos that will be presented under the title CHRISTIAN PERSPECTIVES ON ISLAM. The purpose of these videos is to help Christians understand points of view on Islam. It is also to help Muslims who may have questions and doubts about Islam and are exploring Christianity and Jesus Christ as the Truth. In this video, we will explore the controversial words of Byzantine Emperor Manuel II Palaiologos. Is Islam a religion of COMPULSION? or is it a religion of peace? It will become clear through the opinion of Manuel II Palaiologos, that Islam is not a religion of peace, and that the religion of peace is the one which converts people by the soul and not the flesh. From the Hadith of Al Bukhari vol. 4:196 we read the words of the “prophet” Muhammad saying, “I have been ordered to fight with the people until they say, None has the right to be worshipped but Allah.” Compulsion? Indeed! You are more than welcome to voice concerns, ask questions, and …

You can find hundreds of facts about how Christianity has roots in pagan religions.
Just search Pagan origins of Christianity.
LOL, ok :-)
Greetings in Christ to you Morgh,
I sent you a private message concerning where the music is from.
Dont let the cat out of the bag LOL
If anyone guesses correctly, I will give them a positive commenting rating for an entire week! lol
Great video. Say, what´s this music you use in many of your videos? it sounds familiar..
what the muslims did were probably wrong, they were not following their own religion. There are countless number of quotes in the Quran that say that there is no compulsion in religion. read “al-kaffirun”.
“All who would not seek the LORD, the God of Israel, were to be put to death, whether small or great, man or woman.” (2 Chronicles 15:13)
hows that for “compulsion in religion”
PeAcE
yes, however you cannot judge a religion by a few of its people. If it was like that, i would consider christianity the most violent religion becuase of the crusades, WWI, WWII, war in iraq, afghanistan, etc. If you consider putting one out of 4 verses about war in the quran, and you dont consider that out of context, you are a hypocrite. I put a few verses and you considered them all out of context. For this one, I showed you enough proof, why cant you just accept it? The quotes r clear
69pmac,
No, not out of context, but in perspective.
Providing the full verse ignores the subjects contained in each verse. The perspective attempts to approach the subjects of the verse according to evidence.
The evidence is taken from the real experiences outlined in the video. Even if you read about Manual II Palaiologos’ experiences during the Islamic invasion and rule, you will see that his perspective is accurrate.
The Muslims are to fight for them. If a female Christian is married to a Muslim, it is not to take place without her approval. She is not to be prevented from visiting her church to pray.
Their churches are to be respected. They are neither to be prevented from repairing them nor the sacredness of their covenants. No one of the nation (Muslims) is to disobey the covenant till the Last Day (end of the world).”
this was a covenant to the christians.
No compulsion is to be on them. Neither are their judges to be removed from their jobs nor their monks from their monasteries.
No one is to destroy a house of their religion, to damage it, or to carry anything from it to the Muslims’ houses. Should anyone take any of these, he would spoil God’s covenant and disobey His Prophet. Verily, they are my allies and have my secure charter against all that they hate. No one is to force them to travel or to oblige them to fight.
now what i am about to give you is a LETTER, meaning that there is no chance of fabrication as it was written down and sent to the St. Katherines monestary at mount sinai, enjoy:
“This is a message from Muhammad ibn Abdullah, as a covenant to those who adopt Christianity, near and far, we are with them. Verily I, the servants, the helpers, and my followers defend them, because Christians are my citizens; and by Allah! I hold out against anything that displeases them.
to summerize:
you can fight ONLY as a form of defense: ” Fight in the way of Allah against those who fight against you”
you cannot transgress limits.
YOU STOP IF THEY WANT TO STOP: “but if they cease let there be no hostility except to those who practise oppression.”
does that seem like compulsion to you? There are over 2 million hadith written of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and since there are so many things that oppose this, the hadith may be fabricated.
“…but fight them not at the Sacred Mosque, unless they (first) fight you there; but if they fight you slay them. Such is the reward of those who suppress faith. (191) But if they cease, Allah is Oft-Forgiving Most Merciful. (192) And fight them on until there is no more tumult or oppression and there prevail justice and faith in Allah; but if they cease let there be no hostility except to those who practise oppression.” (Quran 2:190-193)
it appears as though you like to put up verses out of context as much as you think i do. The full 3 verses go like this:
“Fight in the way of Allah against those who fight against you, but begin not hostilities. Lo! Allah loveth not aggressors. (190) And slay them wherever ye find them, and drive them out of the places whence they drove you out, for persecution is worse than slaughter…
Was not the verse you’ve just quoted abrogated by the verse of the sword?
I suspect you know it has been.
So why bother even presenting it?
What do you think you are achieving by doing this?
in the Hadith of Al Bukhari vol. 4:196 which quotes Muhammad as saying, I have been ordered to fight with the people until they say, None has the right to be worshipped but Allah. Jihad most certainly includes opposition to Christianity in the form of hostility and violence merely because it is not Islam.
So yes, Manuel II Palaiologos is not wrong since even Islamic sources confirm his point about COMPULSION in Islam.
Quran, Sura 2:193 states, And fight them until persecution is no more, and religion is for Allah. But if they desist, let there be no hostility except against wrongdoers.
Where it discusses “religion is for Allah” it means that no other religion remains.
69pmac,
As I told you (but you often ignore what Christians tell you) I do not delete tasteful or rational comments on my videos for the purpose of discussion (only my channel is off limits to Islamic propaganda.
As for Luke 19 : 27 I do believe I told you to private message me some of your questions if you truly wish to receive answers and learn about Christianity instead of just accussing Christianity of various falsehoods and misconceptions.
how about his own religion, christianity, what does christianities role model have to say about killing, and compulsion in religion?
“But those enemies of mine who did not want me to be king over them—bring them here and kill them in front of me.” (Luke 19:27)
Just because Jesus PBUH hasnt YET killed people, doesnt change the fact that he is planning on doing it. He is gonna have his enemies killed IN FRONT OF HIM!
please, lets not delete this, and dont have “islamic sites” as an arguement
“such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached.”
OH REALLY?
“Fight in the cause of Allah those who fight you but do not transgress limits; for Allah loveth not transgressors.” (Quran 2:190)
